Nance Gregg's nails it at DU

Anyone who isn't a follower of Nance Greggs on DU will be after reading her latest diary on the Clinton/Obama blog wars we all love (hate?) so much.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/dis cuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum= 132&topic_id=5930812&mesg_id=593 0812

There has been much discussion at DU over the past few months about how posters have gone crazy as a result of their dedication to one candidate or the other.

I don't think we're quite there yet, but I have compiled a list of things to watch for whereby we will all know that true insanity has set in ...

While the list primarily references DU member comments, the sentiment is universal.  For example:

Due to the foul language and personal threats contained in every post about politics, only threads posted in the Cooking & Baking Group will be considered for publication on the Greatest Page.

Do head over and check it out.  You won't be disappointed...good for a laugh.

I lost respect for Nance Greggs (none / 0)

Not that she was ever muach of a writer, but I lost respect for her when she wrote sexist pieces like "The Blonde Leading the Blind".

Re: Nance Gregg's nails it at DU (2.00 / 1)

OK. Ignore the continuation of the primary wars above. Or maybe don't.

Nance Greggs should add this line.

FIRST COMMENT: knock the diarist/journalist/media outlet.

Thanks for Begala II for falling exactly into line and conforming to a stereotype

Oops. I feel like I've just conformed to a stereotype by saying that.

No prob b/duende (none / 0)

Not a major diary effort but when I read it on DU it struck me that we could write the same one here with just a change of names.

Sometimes we just have to laugh at ourselves.

Greggs is a hypocrite (none / 0)

She still darts from thread to thread, making snarky comments to any Clinton supporter she can find.

She's one of the worst partisans over there.

Re: Greggs is a hypocrite (2.00 / 1)

Wow. You should check YOUR partisan radar. As far as I know the diarist was formerly a Hillary supporter.

Which is amusing because (none / 0)

until recently she was a Clinton supporter.

I'm partisan (none / 0)

But I don't post threads of reconciliation (at this stage anyway) while playing the partisanship game. That's what Greggs is doing.

Actually it isn't about reconciliation. (none / 0)

It's about laughing at our own partisan behavior.  Pure snark but just struck me as funny.

And, she teases all regardless of 'candidate affiliation'.

Re: I'm partisan (2.00 / 1)

Your attempts at partisanship are unwittingly highly amusing though.

Keep it up

Re: Nance Gregg's nails it at DU (none / 0)

Will DU be using me as a example of why Hillary can win? Come on since we are crossposting why can't I be a prime example to DU? Hello DU I see you aren't commenting about me :P Hillary will win!

by Hillarywillwin on Mon May 12, 2008 at 04:01:01 PM EST

It's not a crosspost. (none / 0)

Just something I saw that struck me funny.  It's about us sniping at each other, no candidate name is mentioned.

Re: Nance Gregg's nails it at DU (none / 0)

This primary season has brought some raving idiots out of the woodwork on every side. If she is calling them out, then that's great I suppose, but that diary means absolutely nothing to me.  I have no idea who those people are and don't really care.

I find that site completely unreadable.  I don't know whether its the format/layout or the posters, but I can't seem to spend more than two minutes there without clicking away in disgust.

No, she's just making fun of the (none / 0)

hyper-partisanship.  When I read it (and I had no idea who she was referring to) I could easily replace the names with commenters on this site.

No big deal if it isn't your cup of tea.
